Our History
One Life Church Uganda began as a campus plant of CCK. It was established in September 2009. The goal was simple: to serve families and individuals seeking a Christ-centered community in Kampala. Then, in February 2014, the campus became independent. It took the name One Life Church.
Over the next six years, four leaders helped shape the ministry. Brian Kelly, Josh Carlson, Nigel Harding, and Brett Scudder each played an important role. Together, they supported the growth and reach of One Life Church.
Subsequently, in 2018, Martin Muchoki joined the team as Associate Pastor. During this time, he served closely with the church community. He learned the vision and helped guide different ministries. Then, in 2020, he stepped into the role of Lead Pastor. This was another important milestone in the church's journey.
Today, he leads the congregation at the Bugolobi location. This area is also known as the Innovation District. His leadership focuses on spiritual growth and community building. He also helps people live out their faith in practical ways.
A Community Beyond Sundays
One Life Church Uganda is more than a Sunday gathering. Throughout the week, the community meets in different ways. For example, people connect in small groups. They serve together, pray together, and support one another through every season of life.
One Life Church Uganda Three Core Focuses
One Life Church Uganda actively pursues three main things. First, helping people know God personally. Second, building strong relationships within the church family. Third, serving the wider community with love and purpose.
Teaching That Transforms
The church also places strong value on teaching. Every message focuses on the Bible. It shows how Scripture applies to real life. The goal is not simply information, but transformation. As a result, people carry their faith into their workplaces, homes, and communities.
Worship Rooted in Presence
Worship is another vital part of church life. Furthermore, the team designs every service with one aim. They want people to connect with God in a genuine way. It is not about performance. Instead, it is about presence.
Our Life
We gather every week on the Lord’s Day for corporate worship where we listen to the preaching of the Word of Christ, sing the Word, pray the Word, and experience it displayed in the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. We purpose to have a missional heart, intentional discipleship, and fellowship in small groups around the city for mutual care and encouragement as well as practically reaching out communities as an expression of our faith in and love for Jesus.
